Jollibee Ponce Group, a franchise of the leading fast-food chain, launches their new program Jolli-JOBS in Bacolod City in partnership with Pure Abilities Program of Happy Beginners School of Learning Inc. on July 17, 2024 at Jolibee Araneta, Bacolod City. This is a pioneering initiative aimed at integrating persons with special needs into the workforce underscoring Jollibee’s commitment to inclusivity and diversity, setting a new standard in corporate social responsibility within the industry.
Joemel Bernard Arroyo, an eighteen-year-old student of HBSLI under the Pure Abilities Program (SPED Transition Program), is the first student to transition from school to employment because of this initiative. Other students will follow when they have reached the legal age.
Prior simulation and trainings are done by the school to prepare him for work. He will start his employment at Jollibee Ayala branch on July 19, 2024. Similar to all the crew of Jollibee Ponce Group, Joemel’s employment is through direct hiring and he will have the opportunity to be a regular employee if he will pass the performance assessment within the 180 days of his employment.
On the other hand, crew and managers of Jollibee Ayala will also undergo Sensitivity Training on July 13, 2024 to equip them in dealing with individuals with special needs in the work place. Jolli-JOBS will provide comprehensive training and support tailored to the specific needs of participants, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their roles. Participants will have the opportunity to work across various departments within Jollibee, based on their interests and capabilities. Joemel will be assigned as a dining crew of the store.
Recognizing the immense talent and potential of individuals with special needs, Jolli-JOBS (Job Opportunities for the Betterment of individuals with Special needs) aims to provide meaningful employment opportunities that foster personal growth and professional development.
Jolli-JOBS is in line with social outreach program of the Ponce Group Food Division’s philanthropic arm, the Goldhearts Club. By harnessing their unique skills and abilities, Jollibee seeks to create an inclusive work environment where everyone can thrive.
